This piece of art was inspired by a photograph taken of Marika Morris giving a thumbs down to one of the so-called freedom convoy participants roaming her residential street. Marika, along with some neighbours, stood on their street blocking the truck, and repeated the thumbs down signal every time the truck honked. A neighbour was able to get a photograph of the scene, posted it online, and it went viral. This image of Marika's courage in standing up for her neighbourhood inspired this artwork (Ottawa, Winter 2022)
